Continence Health Australia is hosting a free, in person community event for people dealing with incontinence (wee and/or poo leakage) or caring for someone who is.


Hear stories of hope and get helpful advice in a welcoming space. We’d love to see you there.

Program Overview

10:00 Registration, complimentary morning tea on arrival and opportunity to explore a range of continence products

10:30 Community session commences

Program topics include:

  • How the National Continence Helpline can support you
  • A personal story of living with continence issues: a carer's perspective
  • Lived experience: Preparing and advocating for yourself before and after prostate cancer treatment
  • How to talk about your continence health with your health professional
  • Practical management strategies: Pelvic floor exercises, common approaches and treatment pathways
  • Question and answer session

12:30 Complimentary lunch and receive continence product samples

Meet the speakers

Janine Armocida

Janine is a Nurse Continence Specialist and National Continence Helpline Manager at Continence Health Australia, supporting over 16,000 callers each year with information, advice and support. She has a special interest in women’s and children’s continence health.

Ashley Reed

Ashley is a prostate cancer survivor, community volunteer and health and wellbeing advocate with a senior management background. Since retiring in 2023, he has focused on fitness, consumer advocacy and peer support, including involvement with prostate cancer research and support groups. Ashley brings lived experience of post-treatment incontinence and a strong commitment to supporting others.

Dr Linda Brubaker

Dr Brubaker is ainternationally recognised urogynaecologist and a leading expert in bladder health and communication between patients and clinicians

Terry Wesselink

Terry is a Pelvic Floor Physiotherapist with over 25 years experience and postgraduate training in Pelvic Health from the University of Melbourne. Terry provides expert support for adults and children with a wide range of bladder, bowel and pelvic pain concerns, and has a specific interest in complex pelvic health issues related to connective tissue disorders

With a special guest speaker: the 2026 Carer of the Year Award winner, sharing a personal story of living with continence issues from a carer’s perspective.
